Nyamira Senatorial aspirant Philemon Apiemi has called on Dr. Fred Matiang’i to find ways to reconcile the Nyamira Assembly MCAs, who have been experiencing leadership wrangles for the last seven months.

Speaking at a funeral in Rangenyo village in West Mugirango Constituency, Philemon Apiemi asked Fred Matiang’i to take sole responsibility for helping the MCAs resolve their disputes to better serve the residents of Nyamira.

“There have been wrangles in the assembly for some time now, and I am asking our presidential candidate, Fred Matiang’i, to bring them together and solve their issues,” he said.

He stated that Matiang’i now has the upper hand and an opportunity to unite the Nyamira leadership as he prepares to lead the country.

He asked the UPA’s Chief Coordinator for Nyamira, John Nyamboga, to deliver the message to Matiang’i, emphasizing that as a national leader, he needs to build his home before he can lead the country.

The UPA Chief Coordinator, John Nyamboga, on his part, said that they are currently conducting a UPA member registration exercise in the county as they seek to popularize the party and increase membership ahead of the 2027 elections.

Mr. Nyamboga further assured the people that Matiang’i will vie for the presidency under the UPA party, countering rumors that he will vie under the Jubilee party.

He asked Nyamira residents to come out in large numbers to register as UPA members and support the party’s growth.

Philemon Apiemi took the opportunity to donate a wheelchair to a child of the deceased to help him move around easily. Apiemi, who has been involved in donating mobility devices to people living with disabilities (PLWDs) in the county, stated that most PLWDs have been forgotten by leaders.

“Most parents hide their PLWDs and do not want to expose them, and many leaders do not remember such people who are part of us in society,” he regretted.

He promised to continue helping the most vulnerable in the county, in addition to assisting PLWDs who need help the most.

“Empowering PLWDs is our key focus, as we also help the needy in society by donating pumpkin seeds and passion fruit seedlings,” he announced.

Apiemi was also accompanied by Bogichora Ward aspirant, Douglas Orutwa.
