After propaganda claiming Fred Matiang’i had quit the presidential race was spread on social media by bloggers believed to be working for the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) party rubbished the claims, affirming that Matiangi is still in the race.
Mr. Omwoyo Maranga, the UPA Party Communication Strategist Advisor, strongly called on the Kenya Kwanza coalition to stop the cheap propaganda aimed at tainting Matiangi’s presidential race.
He said that the Kenya Kwanza coalition is attempting to portray Raila Odinga as a saint while trying to influence Matiangi to join them.
Mr. Maranga stated that the UPA party is strong and united, and will champion Matiang’i’s presidency.
“Fred Matiangi will be the 6th president of the Republic of Kenya,” he said. “The propaganda being propagated by UDA operatives will not hinder his quest to lead Kenya.”
He added that President William Ruto and Raila Odinga, combined, are scared of Matiang’i because he is a hard-working leader who has proven to deliver in all positions he has served.
“Matiangi is still in the race, and his candidature will be through the UPA party and not Jubilee, as earlier indicated by Jubilee party leaders,” he confirmed.
He further said that many parties in the country have expressed their intentions to field Matiang’i as their presidential candidate, but he informed them that it is impossible.
“I know that Matiang’i is a beautiful bride that Jubilee and other parties are trying to seduce to their leadership, but we would like to inform them that UPA is his mother party,” he explained.

He said that Matiang’i is not a newcomer in Kenya and has previously served in various government positions where he delivered, making him beloved by Kenyans.
“We (UPA) have nurtured him, taken care of him until his maturity in politics, and we will make sure he becomes the president of Kenya,” he promised.
He said Matiang’i has good plans for Kenya, ranging from education, health, security, and other ailing sectors in the country.
He said that the 2027 presidency is all about work and not promises and speeches.
“Come 2027, we will elect leaders based on how they delivered during their tenure, not promises and political talks,” he warned.

The “Matiang’i Quits” propaganda comes days after Raila Odinga claimed that “Kisii votes are not enough to make Matiang’i the president.”
Raila’s utterance did not sit well with most Kisii leaders, who quickly told him to stop tainting the name of their son.
On Sunday, Raila received a cold reception at Gusii Stadium during the launch of Shabana FC’s new jerseys.
Shabana fans, who were chanting anti-Ruto and anti-Raila slogans, made it impossible for him to address the angry crowd.
Kisii Governor Simba Arati was unable to contain the crowd as he prepared the ground for Raila to address them.
“My good people, I am kindly asking you to let these leaders address you for the sake of our club,” Arati implored them in Ekegusii.
The ground became hostile, causing fans to stand up, throw chairs, and walk out of the stadium.
Matiang’i’s entry into the presidential race has caused ripples in the country, prompting many parties to seek him out, while sending Ruto and Raila to join forces to survive the 2027 storm.
Meanwhile, the UPA party’s Communication Strategist Advisor has asked the youth to register for national identification cards that will enable them to register as voters.
“I am urging the youth to apply for ID cards and register as voters before 2027 to exercise their democratic right to vote,” he concluded.
As a gen z , I confirm voting for Matiang’i.
