The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a circular ordering all of its workers to file their individual income tax returns 2022  latest June 30, 2023.  This is in accordance with the Income Tax Act.

‘‘All employees are required by the Teachers Service Commission to submit individual income tax returns,’’ read the circular.

TSC requires all employees to submit their returns online using the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)’s iTax platform.

The circular recommends employees to download their Tax Deduction Cards (P9 Forms) on the TSC T-pay site in order to simplify the filing of returns.

Employees who have trouble filing their returns have been advised to get help from the TSC Accounts Division (PAYE Section) by getting in touch with them at a number of different numbers, including (020) 289-2000 Ext: 2401/2382 or 0722 208 552/0777 208 552.

Kenya Revenue Aauthority (KRA) has established service centers across the nation that offer support in case employees need more help.

The TSC’s Secretary/Chief Executive, Dr. Nancy Njeri Machari, has asked all TSC staff members to abide by the directive.

‘‘By June 30, 2023, they must submit their individual income tax returns for the year 2022,’’ Dr. Machari ordered.

She added ‘‘All TSC staff members and secretariat personnel received the circular from the TSC. It is expected of every employee to follow the instruction.’’

The significance of tax compliance was emphasized by the TSC. Employees were urged to ask for help if they had any filing issues.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) offers the T-pay portal for downloading Tax Deduction Cards, while the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) offers the iTax platform for submitting different kinds of income tax forms.
