- Nyamira County Commissioner, Onesmus Kyatha, has warned administrative chiefs who condone local brew in their ares of jurisdiction. He told them to take actions against local brewers who brew and sell chang’aa and busaa which are harmful to human health.
- The Commissioner also warned gangs in Nyamira North who have causing trouble to the citizens. He said most of them have been profiled and will be arrested soon. He regretted that most of these gang members are former prisoners.
- Nyamira Governor, Amos Nyaribo renames Manga Stadium to Robert Ouko Stadium in honour of the athlete who won gold and three bronze medals for Kenya in marathon in the 1980s.
